Support Material Advantage

Where Does Your Support Go?

When you contribute to Material Advantage, you support our organization as a whole. From bladesmithing costs to event costs and beyond, there is a lot that goes into our work.

Ultimately, we put resources and funding into the things that need it the most. Our largest cost is the Bladesmithing Team due to the material costs and access to tools. Other costs include conference fees and Material Advantage meetings.

Ways to Give and Support

Material Advantage Sponsorship

Providing monetary support is an excellent way to support Material Advantage and all of our work. In return for donations of $250 or more, you receive special perks and benefits. To learn more, see our sponsorship levels.

If you're wanting to support a specific project or concept, we welcome your gift! Let us know what your vision is and we will work with you to make your contribution meaningful for as many students as possible.

Bladesmithing Partnership

Our Bladesmithing Team requires various materials, specialized tools and equipment, and purpose-built rooms to forge blades. A Bladesmithing Partnership means you help us make forging possible.

Your in-kind donation can involve providing materials or expertise, lending us specialized equipment, or bringing us to a different site to conduct our work. Because of the limitations of campus, we do not have access to a forge or some of the tools we need to craft our blade, and that is where your partnership comes in.

If you're interested in a partnership, please reach out and we can work with you to ensure mutual benefit, proper recognition, and any other details

Travel and Conference Sponsorship

Material Advantage regularly sends students to conferences to grow their experience, engage in networking, and compete in Materials Bowl or Bladesmithing Competitions. Unfortunately, some of the fees and costs to attend these conferences are paid by students, and we're looking to change that.

Through supporting Material Advantage, you would have a direct impact on the experiences and lives of students. We can help you work out the details of this support and any benefits you'd like to see (including pictures, "social media takeovers," or something entirely different).
